Update 2020.6: Homepage Redesign, User Interface Improvements

  • Our homepage now features the omnibar front and center, making it more of an interface up front.
    • The homepage now features our entire library, which take you to landing pages for each of our resources so that you can browse and click to navigate instead of using the omnibar.
    • The homepage and about pages are now built to better explain the app and how to use it for first-time visitors.
  • Sharing and search for the Westminster Standards!

Update 2020.5: Westminster Larger Catechism

  • The Westminster Larger Catechism is now available! For now, this is also only accessible through typing the abbreviation followed by the section (and optional article) into the omnibar, e.g. “WLC 3.5”
    • The WLC now appears in “References to this Verse”
    • Scripture references can be viewed and expanded via the lightbulb icon and also clicking directly on the footnote number/indicator.
  • When you start typing one of the abbreviations for the Westminster Standards, the omnibar now starts autofilling this for you.

Update 2020.4: Westminster Shorter Catechism

  • The Westminster Shorter Catechism is now available! For now, this is also only accessible through typing the abbreviation followed by the section (and optional article) into the omnibar, e.g. “WSC 3.5”
    • The WSC now appears in “References to this Verse”
    • Scripture references can be viewed and expanded via the lightbulb icon and also clicking directly on the footnote number/indicator.

Update 2020.3: Tappable Footnotes

Mostly at Sarah’s request, the WCF’s footnotes are now accessible both by tapping directly on the footnote itself, or by opening the lightbulb.

Update 2020.2: WCF and Automatic Scrolling

  • The Westminster Confession of Faith now available! For now, it is only accessible through typing the abbreviation followed by the section (and optional article) into the omnibar, e.g. “WCF 3.5”
    • WCF appears in “References to this Verse”
    • Clicking on the lightbulb icon next to each article reveals Scripture references.
  • When you type a chapter and verse into the omnibar, it now scrolls you directly to that verse. E.g. John 3:3 would navigate you to John 3 and scroll you to the third verse in the chapter.

Update: 2020.0: Psalm Intros, Scrolling Lightbulb

A small update with some new content and usability improvements.

  • John Brown of Haddington’s introductions to the Psalms

Update 2019.6: Introducing the Omnibar

We’ve made big changes to how you navigate on Relight!

  • “References to this Verse” feature
  • Navigation bar now navigates to all our resources (e.g. try “Calvin: John 2”)
  • Navigation bar now searches the Bible as well as Calvin (eventually, it will search everything on our. site).
  • Search can be filtered by book/resource, and sorted by relevance or occurrence.
  • With all these changes, we’re calling the nav bar the “Omnibar.” If you have a better name idea, please please tell us.
  • Minor bug fixes with dark mode and other items

Here’s a Youtube video summarizing the update.

Update 2019.5: The Unknown Update

To be completely honest, we don’t remember what we did for 2019.5. We somehow missed it everywhere else, and we’re publishing these change logs on the blog in retrospect.

Whatever 2019.5 was, we bet it was pretty cool. Groundbreaking, even.

Update 2019.3: Various Usability Improvements

Just a few changes to make the app more user-friendly.

  • Fixed formatting on Psalm superscriptions
  • Added support for tapping/clicking verse references in Geneva Bible notes
  • Added previous/next chapter buttons to the top of Bible chapters
  • Minor typography tweaks
  • Minor bug fixes
